Messi Wins Golden Boot Award As He Level With Cristiano Ronaldo's Count.


Messi measures up to Ronaldo with fourth Golden Shoe award.

Lionel Messi drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo's count of four European Golden Shoes in the wake of accepting the honor at a ceremony  on Friday.

The Barcelona claim the prize – gave to Europe's best goalscorer – for his 37 La Liga strikes in 2016-17.

It is the fourth time Messi has taken the distinctions, after his achievements in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

His great count originated from 34 top-flight game saw him top the outlines in front of Sporting CP's Bas Dost, who got 34 in the Primeira Liga, while Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang adjusted the best three with 31.

Ronaldo, winner of the award in 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2015, scored 25 association objectives last season and did not make the main five.
