Somalia's worst bomb attack with about 300 injured.


The most powerful bomb blast ever to happen in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital killed more than 250 people with almost 300 others injured, Abdirahman O. Osman who is the country's information minister,said it's the deadliest terrorist attack in the country.
The attack occurred when a truck carrying explosives detonated in a crowded street filled with cars and pedestrians, near government ministries and hotels.
As angry civilians gathered near the scene of the attack, The government of somalia blamed the al-Shabab extremist group for what it called a "national disaster." However, Africa's deadliest extremist group, are yet to claim the attack.
Al-Shabab earlier this year vowed to increase attacks after both the U.S president and Somalia's recently elected president announced new military action against the group.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo said the attack showed Somalia’s enemies cared nothing for human lives.

In a tweet, Abdirahman Osman labelled the attack "barbaric" and said countries including Turkey and Kenya had already offered to send medical aid. Hospitals were filled up after a truck bomb exploded at a crowded street near key government ministries, including foreign affairs.
The president declared three day of mourning and also persuade his citizens to donate blood to the victims,he also visited Medina Hospital on Sunday morning to give blood and comfort victims, hundreds more Somalis flocked to hospitals to donate blood.
Relatives of missing people arrived at hospital desperate for news of there loved ones. Others wandered around the remains of buildings hit by the blast.

The Mogadishu bombing is one of the deadliest attacks in sub-Saharan Africa, deadlier than the Garissa University attack in Kenya in 2015 and the U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.
